While it is certainly true that standardized testing has been overused and overemphasized in modern education, it can be a useful tool for today's homeschooling families. Most students end up taking the SAT more than once, and Kahn Academy has a wonderful program available to help them improve their scores after taking it the first time. The students test score is linked to their Kahn Academy account, and then, when the test scores come in, Kahn provides practice problems to improve upon the questions/content that the student needs to work on. Best of all, it's FREE!!
Students that utilize this service have been shown to improve their SAT scores on the second test. How cool is that?!
